Family Vacation Plans

Hey everyone,

I was thinking about our plans for this vacation in June. I'm sure it is going to be here before we know it. I was thinking that depending on what we decide to do, we may need to make plans ahead of time. So, I was wondering what everybody was hoping to do during the week we are together.

I think the sporting competition idea is great. A couple of years ago the kids had a great time at Park City doing the Alpine slides. That may be something that would be fun. I don't know if there are any fun swim places or maybe Lagoon where we could spend a day. Do we want to hit Temple square at all or shopping for the girls. I think it would be really fun to have an idea of what we were going to do each day before we even got up there so we don't waste too much time in the decision making process.

If we get a bunch of ideas, then it would just be a matter of having Dad put it together in an organized, cohesive and fairly elaborate itinerary to which we can all refer as the week progresses. Let me know what you think.

Happy St. Patrick's day to you all. We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa and they were already quite in the Spirit of the Holiday as you can tell by the photo. Dad's just a little tall to be a leprechaun but it was a valiant effort. We love you all,

We have a close friend who has spent the last year working for the "CP80 Foundation." (Maybe you've heard of it?!)
This foundation has furnished a solution to Internet pornography that involves categorizing and channeling the Internet content.
"Right" you say, sarcastically.
But wait! Suspend your disbelief for a minute!
We really, really believe that the proposed CP80 sollution is totally viable. The concept they're proporting is a bit like Cable TV - once content is appropriately categorized, consumers will be able to choose what they want to receive as part of their Internet experience - and what sort of material is available within the walls of their own home.

CP80 will be introducing legislation in the US Congress within the next few months. They are also working internationally with countries including Brazil, Mexico, Australia, South Africa and South Korea.

Proceed With Caution...

Along with what seems like the rest of humanity, the Wes Trumans are all recovering from bouts of illness. Being on the tail end of her unidentified virus, Lucy woke up this morning with the usual crust of “boogs” (as she calls them) in and around her delicate little nose (this is graphic, I tried to warn you!) So I retrieved a Kleenex, and as we sat together on the couch with the reverent strains of “Clifford the Big Red Dog” floating in the morning air, we performed the “nose picking” ritual (I try subtly to inch my finger close to her nose, she inevitably senses the intrusion and pushes my hand away saying “No!”)
Well, the situation this morning was pretty dire. I finally gave up on subtlety and tried to reason with her (always very effective with near-two-year-olds, I know, I know!). I turned her to face me on my lap, “Honey, we’ve got to get your nose cleaned. It’s part of getting ready for the day.” A few more failed attempts. “Lucy, please let mommy get your boogs!” My “reasoning” verged on pleading. Instead of the flailing “Nooo!” that I was anticipating, Lucy looked at me solemnly, held one chubby little pointer finger in front of my eyes and said “One time!” Shocked and delighted, I quickly cleaned her nose. (That one swipe was insufficient, but I wasn’t about to press my luck.)
So who calls the shots around our house? I have no further comment.

star wars birthday party

Hello Everyone! It is so much fun to read all of the posts! I love this. I'm writing to ask some advice from all of your very creative minds. Jacob wants an Ewok birthday party. So, I'm trying to gather ideas-- Has anyone or any kids been to a Star Wars birthday party? Do you have any ideas about games and activities you could share with me? I think we'll use teddy grahams with toothpick spears for the cupcakes. Another idea I thought of was balloon light sabers. I may do a pinata of the death star-- I really need games and fun birthday activities that can be applied to star wars. Let me know if you have any ideas! Thanks alot!
